If you didn’t know, Q1 just finished and this is where most businesses look over their numbers from the past three months, see their success/failures, and compare it to where they were last year. As we like to identify ourselves as having a personal brand over at Timeless Thoughts, I feel it’s an appropriate time to do our review for the year so far and see the progression of our brand as we enter Q2 (this is not an April Fools joke people, it’s time to lock in).
We need to realize it’s already April and the year is moving quicker than the student loan money vanishing from my account every first of the month (they will never miss this payment I’m telling you). I remember my birthday in January as if it were yesterday, but I quickly realized… it was two months ago. We cannot dwell on the past, and we know how unforgiving time can be especially in this economy. Recognizing how summer is around the corner for Canadians, (May, June, July, & August are the best months of the year in Canada—if you know you know) I have seen many common goals shared with the masses that may resonate with you – let’s examine together.
The Quotables
My Summer Body for 2025 Will Be The Best It’s Ever Been…
I Will Stop Procrastinating…
I Will Start This Hobby...
I Will Get A New Job…
I Will Be Better Than I Was Last Year…
From these goals, we see there’s something here for everyone to take away. If you said you would stop procrastinating, I hope you are not lying to yourself and have already started adopting new habits to avoid procrastination. You say you want a new job but are you doing everything you can to have the best chance to get a new job? And if your back is still big in April, my friend, I think we both know what needs to be done (Ozempic… nah I’m just playing—start with moving your body more first and then reach out if you need the fitness plan).
No offense intended here at Timeless Thoughts—this is simply a reality check. If you want results, you must stay critical of your process and consistently evaluate whether you’re taking the right steps to be better than you were last year. Continuing further on my last point (or spinning the block like the kids are saying nowadays), we have to stay on the theme of being critical and the importance of game planning to see results.
How Long Will You Freestyle For?
My brothers once told me, “a man without a plan cannot lead and if you never learn to lead, you will remain a follower for the rest of your life.” We’ve discussed in the past about “it is what it is statements” and how just following others around won’t allow you to reach your full potential. You can’t be following anyone and everything, never giving yourself an opportunity to lead (unless you are following Timeless Thoughts, sign up to the email thread, thanks).
I’m all for a good freestyle, but when it comes to making real moves, you only get results by moving with purpose. We all know that one person who just seems to have it— they barely try, yet everything they touch turns gold. They just pull up, do their thing, and it’s wavy (standard abbreviation for impressive) every time. But let’s be real, that might not be you—and that’s cool. It just means we have to lock in, put in the work, and level up where we’re lacking.
Remember, you don’t always have to be locked into a strict routine—there’s still a way to freestyle and finesse (standard abbreviation for doing something in a slick way) without compromising your integrity or the end goal. If you’re on the job hunt, set aside one day a week just for applying, then up the frequency as you go. Picking up a new hobby takes effort, but if you start and it actually means something to you, you owe it to yourself to lock in weekly and build from there. And if you’re really tryna unbig your back, swap the spoon for a fork and keep the portions light—I promise by August, you’ll be thanking me when you’re outside for Caribana in 30-degree weather, skin out and stress-free!
What I want you to remember is the intent behind everything and why trying will allow you to see the true vision unfold. It starts with the faith of wanting to be better, and the work accompanies it to make it happen. Faith without works is dead so prepare yourself to put in the work if you haven’t started already, don’t let your enemies lap you because of inconsistency.
Care less, Don’t Be “Careless”
Looking at the heading above you may be slightly confused, but by the end of this article, it’ll all make sense (well at least I hope so). When you put in your hours of work, sometimes you have to care less about how it looks. At first, it might be ugly, a little shaky, maybe even straight-up trash—because you’re trying to keep up. And that’s a good thing. We need that stage to shake off the early jitters.
The key, though, is not to be careless or sloppy—you’re not out here purposefully wasting time or messing up the flow for others. This is about you and your growth. And trust me, progress is never a straight line, so stop stressing about how it looks or what people think. Do it in silence or do it where everyone can see; the most important thing is having receipts so you can hold yourself accountable at the start of Q3 when I’m back to check in on our progress (I will be here, don’t sleep).
The beauty of knowing we control what we control is that it gives us more freedom—freedom to think, move, and not let life push us around or make choices for us. You must believe there’s something better on the other side, no matter what. Hopefully, this article gave you some insight into how freestyling and moving with intent can go hand in hand, naturally, without forcing it.
I hope you enjoyed the read, I will be back for more soon. Share this article with a friend, and as always, answer the question below!
